Royal warrants of appointment in Thailand began by His Majesty King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) bestowed to those who supplied goods and services to the Monarch, which evolved to include companies and businesses over time. The Garuda was first used by His Majesty King Rama VI in 1911, together with the words "By Royal Permission" of which are still used to this day. The granting of Royal warrants are also to put a stamp on a product or company that is used by the Royal Household, meaning that they are of the best qualities, good standing, and the best representation of the Kingdom. These companies will thus uphold their standards to the highest, and one would not wish to tarnish the King or the country’s good name. It is of extreme prestige to be granted such an honour.
Boon Rawd Brewery Co., Ltd received the Royal Warrant on 25 October 1939, for which it has been proudly displayed on the neck of all Singha bottles, whether it be Singha Beer, Singha Soda water, or Singha Water.
