HRH PRINCE CHARLES, PRINCE OF WALES | |||
The presentation portrait has the Royal Signature at the bottom, dated 1980, in the original green leather frame by Jarrods of Knightsbridge, embossed at top with the Prince of Wales' feather. His Royal Highness The Prince Charles was born on 14 November 1948 to Her Majesty The Queen Elizabeth II and His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. He became heir apparent to the British throne since 1952, and created Prince of Wales on 26 July 1958, and he is currently the longest serving heir apparant in the history of England. He is known as the Duke of Rothesay in Scotland and the Duke of Cornwall in the South, among many other titles. He married Lady Diana Spencer in 1982, had 2 children, divorced in 1996, and married again to Camilla Parker-Bowles in 2005, who uses the title of Duchess of Cornwall rather than Princess of Wales, so not to bring back the memories of the then very much publicized marriage life. Prince Charles was an action man when he was younger, became a notable painter, a crusader of architectural preservation, and an expert in clean agriculture. His Prince's Trust is known for its exceptional activities in education, and helping the less fortunate by giving that important first push in life. I am a fan of HRH, and this presentation portrait is special, even though I did not receive it myself. It's an honour in itself having the opportunity to purchase it when I can.
